Did you know that most children who end up in the criminal justice system, face school expulsion, or become involved with drugs have endured significant trauma in their childhood? (Adverse Childhood Experiences study – 1998)
These traumatic events are referred to as ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences’ or ‘ACEs‘ for short.
Help us To break the cycle
Children who have experienced 4 or more Traumatic Events in childhood (Adverse Childhood Experiences or ‘ACEs’ for short) are 7 times more likely to be expelled than their peers with 0 ACEs (Gonzalez, 2022).
Children who have experienced 4 or more Traumatic Events in childhood (Adverse Childhood Experiences or ‘ACEs’ for short) are 7 times more likely to be expelled than their peers with 0 ACEs (Gonzalez, 2022).
Expelled students with 4+ ACEs are 14 times more likely to be incarcerated later in life. (Sanders, 2022).
Of expelled students have experienced 3 or more traumatic events (Adverse Childhood Experiences or ‘ACEs’ for short) in childhood. (Sanders, 2022)
